[Cs-second-year] Summer USRA (Undergraduate Student Research Awards)

Good Afternoon,

This email is to inform you of the USRA (Undergraduate Student Research Awards) Summer NSERC program, a paid research opportunity for next summer.

Who can successfully apply?
-You must be Canadian
-You must have a minimum average of 80%
-You can be in your 4th year of study
-A CS Faculty Supervisor (you will need to contact them directly)

These positions are 16 weeks in length starting on May 1st and ending August 31st.

Over the next couple months it is your responsibility to contact your own Computer Science Faculty member to see if they would take you on for this program. You can find a list on our website Full-Time Faculty - Computer Science - Western University (uwo.ca)<https://www.csd.uwo.ca/people/faculty/index.html> (those labelled with Professor are eligible, those with Lecturer are not).

The transcript you attach to your application must meet the following requirements:

  *   Your name, the university's name and the program in which you're enrolled appear
  *   Grades up to December 31st of the year preceding the award are included


Western's "Academic Record" format meets NSERC's transcript requirements.

If you are undertaking a USRA at Western but your home university is different, you must attach an official transcript from your home university to your online application, including the legend.

You cannot submit your application without this transcript therefore you cannot submit until after January 9th.

Please contact me directly about the interest in the program as well as with the name of your supervisor and I will note that an academic record is needed for your application come January.
